Major Works Of Andy Warhol

Marilyn Diptych

The painting was created in hot pursuit: after the death of the actress. Warhol brought together the two paintings: five dozen casually painted portraits taken with a photo Monroe in the film “Niagara”, and another of the same, only the graphics in black and white. Made in the technique of silk-screen printing, “Marilyn” was one of the main tools of the actress becoming a posthumous cult. Nine years ago, painting bought for $ 80 million, in the early decades of painting appeared at the Tate Britain gallery.
