Ludwig Lundin, resting in the mountain resort of Switzerland, noticed a strange phenomenon called the halo-ring glowing around the Sun. The video was posted on a Facebook of vacationer. Users immediately reacted to this news, dubbing the halo “angelic radiance” or “something from a different world. “The halo, in fact, is an atmospheric optical phenomenon, shining around the Sun or the Moon. The rays of light are reflected from ice crystals in clouds 5-10 kilometers in height. The color spectrum of such phenomena differs among themselves, due to the fact that the ice crystals through which the halo is observed can be located at different angles. That is why people, looking at the halo from different points simultaneously, see different colors.
